“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore, God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever…For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness… (Rom. 1:18-29).
In Why the Insanity I, I endeavored to show, biblically, the basic issues surfacing in our society at large, and why such a large portion of our population here in America has seemingly gone off the deep end. Once again, I want to state my standard disclaimer that I am not interested in politics, and don’t really care what happens to the kingdom of man because I serve the kingdom of heaven on earth and its King, Jesus. However, He said we need to be able to read the signs of the times and there is no better place to observe those than in the world of global politics.
Since I published Why the Insanity I, we have seen even more evidence of who is pulling the puppet-strings of approximately 1/3 of our population, because while Mr. Muller and his partisan group of lawyers did all possible to try to unseat a duly elected president, “blind justice [the truth]” prevailed, leaving that 1/3 in a state of complete denial, new accusation, and increased rage. Furthermore, more states have now voted for the atrocity of infanticide.
I stated in that first article a revelation God had given me concerning Matthew 24 where Jesus says, “Nation shall arise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,” that being the word “kingdom” means “realm or reign” arising against realm or reign being the sign of the beginning of the birth pangs. This recent explosion of patently evil conduct can only signify we are living in those times. Let me begin by saying when voters shocked the world by electing Donald Trump over the highly-favored Hilary Clinton in 2016, I thought perhaps God had granted America a reprieve. If you look at it from a worldly perspective, that would be a valid assumption. However, looking at it with kingdom eyes I now see that election, that could only be called an act of God no one expected, as hastening the collapse of America and, with her, the world. If Trump had not been elected, we would have seen the slow, steady continued demise of America which began with President Clinton. However, with Trump in office it’s been like someone put a match to gasoline, and the “arising of kingdom against kingdom” has become perfectly clear. It has only served to enrage Satan’s party and hasten the times of the end.
The passages from Romans above perfectly describe what we are now experiencing, and why “the insanity” seems so very prevalent in today’s society. For many years it has been bubbling under the surface but now seems to be exploding all around us. I believe that is because the time for realm arising against realm,” had not come. All will “come out of the closet” that hid whomever they truly were. They will not be able to help it.
Romans 1 starts with a promise the wrath of God will be revealed when the events following are manifested in a society. The first indicator of this is “men suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.” Check. We have seen this going on for many years now in our society, as particularly public schools and colleges have been suppressing the righteous truth of the Word and promoting unrighteous lies and lifestyles. This has been done to the point where it is not a matter of if, but when, the biblical underpinnings of our country and its constitution will be completely transformed, ignored, or undone.
Romans goes on to say what is known of God in a society is manifested through men whom He made. Jesus said men would know we are His disciples by the example we set. If that example is unrighteous then men, and indeed society itself, will turn to unrighteousness. Religion and temple worship have had much to do with this, in that they have been content with “making converts” who set no godly example except immaturity and worldliness, when Jesus’ command was to “make disciples who observe all He commanded.” Jesus did not just preach the gospel and teach its truths, He lived every single word of it. That’s precisely what He commanded His shepherds to do. In John 10 He said, “My sheep hear my voice AND the follow Me.” Sheep hear the words AND also follow the example of their shepherds. If the extent of the example they see goes no further than teaching and preaching, they will never be led into discipleship. Teaching and preaching to “hear” without any impactful example to “follow” from our preachers is what we have witnessed in American temple worship for as long as I’ve lived.
Romans goes on to say all will be without excuse because, though He has made Himself known through His creation, men would refuse Him the glory due, become unthankful for the very lives they have, and become futile in their minds and foolish in their hearts. The word “futile” here means vein, foolish, wicked, and idolatrous. Check. The word for “foolish” means unintelligent and without understanding. He then says men would profess to be wise but, in reality, would become fools and exchange worship of God for worship of flesh. In other words, they would exchange the kingdom of man for the kingdom of heaven on earth as their reality. Check again.
Then, in verse 24, Paul says something he repeats two more times in this passage: “Therefore God also gave them up…” The word for “gave up” here means to surrender up, transmit to, yield to, or imprison to. When a society gets to this point with God, they have crossed a line under grace. When sin and disobedience raise to the point of practice, to the extent even the realization of the sin has been lost and with it any felt desire or need to repent, grace becomes inoperable. Contrary to those who preach the cheap and impotent grace most do today, grace is not possible without repentance. In 2nd Corinthians, Paul says, “The sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation.” In Revelations 9, John says that “Men…blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give God the glory,” echoing what Paul says about the unrepentant in Romans 1:21, “They did not glorify Him as God.”
What does God “imprison them and transmit them to” because of their sinful, disobedient, dark, foolish practices and thinking? The list of these is found in verses 24-27: primarily “the lust of the flesh and the eyes” John said “was not of God, but of the world.” I find it interesting Paul starts here with the focus on the daughters of Eve. If men are to be the heads of their households, society, and the church, why start this admonishment with the women? The same reason God addressed Eve in the Garden before Adam when it came to the curses [http://theawakenedchristianman.org/2018/10/19/the-unleashing-of-evil/]! When women are allowed to rule, the fall always follows. Just as it happened in the Garden, women have been allowed to rule over men. I believe for that same reason Paul addresses the daughters of Eve here first. Have we not for many years seen these abominations lived out before us, completely “out of the closet?” Are not women increasingly leading society and their households? Double-check.
Later, in verse 28, Paul speaks of a society that “does not like to retain God in their knowledge.” Again, I refer to above statements concerning public schools and institutions of higher education. The result, according to Paul, is God imprisoning those who practice these things to debased minds, filled with every sort of evil imaginable. The word here for “debased” is worthless, rejected, and reprobate. What this turns people in to is expressed in verses 29-31. Again, have we not witnessed a literal explosion of these characteristics across virtually all aspects of American society? Another “check.”
Finally, Paul reveals how those who are guilty of these manifest evils will all come together to reinforce one another, lending hearty mutual approval amongst themselves because in their worthless, rejected, and reprobate minds, they believe enough strength in numbers in the flesh will nullify the commands, judgments, and power of God. I believe they do this because they know, God having “manifested His nature within them and clearly shown Himself in nature,” they are wrong, unrepentant, dishonored in their bodies, and will soon feel His wrath.
When you have been given over by the only One who can “transform your mind” to one that can “prove what the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God” is (Rom. 12), or imprison it to being worthless, reprobate, not understanding, and foolish your thinking becomes so corrupted even that which is plainly true is debated or ignored. Once again, have we not seen in recent years so many groups of self-proclaimed “victims of phobias” of every sort banning together to take on the world and justify their sinful behaviors? One last “check.”
What is the smashing point? We’re here, now, and this is why the insanity we’re witnessing around America has recently seen exponential increase. Perhaps 1/3 of the people of this country have now been fully given over, abandoned by God, and imprisoned to debased, reprobate minds. There will be no reasoning with them, no repentance, and no salvation because the One who is alone capable of salvation has given them over to their evil desires. As I said in Why the Insanity I, such a large population of people so suddenly, as if someone hit a switch during the elections of 2016, becoming completely deranged cannot be explained away as some sort of mental health issue. On the other hand, it can easily occur when, as Jesus promised, “kingdom [realm] arises against kingdom [realm].” It is the only explanation that makes sense.
Does this mean we recoil in fear, become preppers, and hide in holes we’ve dug in the forest? By no means! Ever our example, though Jesus knew pain and suffering were coming His way in the flesh, He never stopped doing His Father’s work in the Spirit! He remained, until the end, the kingdom incarnate! I believe there are many decent people out there who have not yet been given over who don’t know Jesus. But what I truly believe is the whitest field of all is, as it was in Jesus’ day, the “lost sheep of God’s house” who desperately need discipling and mentoring so they can stand and face the onslaught that is coming. As Jesus said to the church of Sardis, it is truly time to “wake up, and strengthen the things that remain which were about to die!” The insanity will continue, and even increase, in the kingdom of man. But the peace, confidence, faith, and work to be done in the kingdom of heaven on earth will increase even more!
