“Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’” (Matt 10:6-8)
Back in July of this year I wrote concerning the fact God had, at long last, revealed my calling, which is simply to do what He did: preach the gospel of the kingdom to the lost children of God’s house. In that article, I recalled immediately that upon God revealing my path He brought a number of Christian men into contact with me who were feeling God was calling them upward, they were searching for answers, and needed just that very message.
Recently, I released another article concerning a topic that brings out the differences between the two kingdoms on earth. It is a subject that indicates which kingdom those who say they believe actually are citizens of, and that is politics. One of those original men I had a chance to share the kingdom’s gospel with back then was tied up in knots over where America was heading, the election, and just what he was going to do to keep his family safe in a world that was coming unglued. Seriously, I felt a ton of compassion for this young man who had a number of very young children with another on the way. I have three sons and five grandchildren, and it’s frightening to try to imagine life in their shoes.
So understand, this isn’t Moses coming down off the Mount here, but I do know which kingdom I am a citizen of and that’s really what matters. Jesus came with one clarion message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” If we don’t get that one right, we will end up among those lost children of God’s house. Anyway, my friend responded to my article with the following comments:
“God, thank you for helping Mike write this. So timely and needed. Couldn’t agree more. I decided not to vote this year because God instructed me to stay out of it. I’m so happy with my decision as I sit and watch everyone panicking over the last 5-6 days. I’m not going to lie it was a big decision for me to not vote. So much pressure from everyone (on both sides of the aisle) just to cast a meaningless vote. Just take a look at all the fraud and try to explain to me how your vote counts! I really feel free after walking away from it all. Seems like one of Satan’s favorite schemes is to wrap us up in the kingdoms of this world so that we p! ay less attention to God’s kingdom. I threw my ballot in the trash and I knew that’s where it belonged.”
I rejoice for this brother, because not only does a full realization of the kingdom set us free from worrying over politics, it changes the way we perceive so much more. Freedom! Thank you, my brother, for your testimony and for confirming my calling. To see the eyes of one who formerly was trying to live with one foot in each kingdom opened to understand the peace and power available to those who fully embrace this gospel of the kingdom, and move in to full citizenship, calls to mind what Paul said about how he felt at times like this, “For now we really live when YOU stand firm in the Lord” (1 Thess. 3)!
